The "Wine route" winds down from the north to the south following the hills of the vineyards over more than
170 kilometres at the foot of the wooded slopes of the Vosges.
Its journey is pure pleasure : an undulating line of sometimes steep vines alternates with villages
full of flowers and narrow streets, inimitables houses tightly
clenched around their bell towers.
Taste the fresh and agreeable wines along the way, living proof of the love of wine.
On the way, head off into the heart of the vineyards and to the summit of the slopes via the signposted wine paths
and discover the work behind
the vines and the diversity of grape varieties.
From April to October, the wine festivals and wine fairs continue with these traditions:
Colmar (week beginning 15th August), Ammerschwihr (April), Molsheim (1st May), Guebwiller (Ascension Day),
Barr (early October) and Ribeauvillé (end July)
to name but a few.
Barr, wine capital of the Bas-Rhin, is located on this picturesque route, with 120 hectares
on which its famous GRAND CRU "Kirchberg de Barr" grows in the marno-calcaera sub-oil facing south-east
and reputed to be one of the best Gewurztraminers of Alsace.
This land also provides the perfect home for
the grape varieties Riesling and Tokay-Pinot-Gris.
The rest of the local vineyards grow in more argillacecous soil.
As a Logis de France "Bacchus" and thanks to our experience with wine lovers
(based on a wine map including 1100 references of which 300 are in Alsace),
we are at your disposal to assist you and make it easier to discover good vineyards in the Bas-Rhin
or the Haut-Rhin (from Marlenheim to Thann),
depending on your preferences, desires and the importance of the differents aeras.
